As part of its youth empowerment efforts under the EU Youth Empowerment Fund Network Solutions, YMCA Sierra Leone has launched a new initiative reaching 50 young people across Lungi, Freetown, Bo and Kenema. Participants have been selected to participate in practical, skills-based training in areas with strong demand, including CCTV and solar installation, driving, fashion design, plumbing and more.
The project, titled Youth Empowerment for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Livelihoods, aims to strengthen young people’s ability to respond to the challenges of climate change while also increasing their economic opportunities. By building a foundation of technical and vocational skills, the initiative supports youth in securing sustainable livelihoods and contributing to climate resilience in their communities.
This project is part of the Youth Empowerment Fund, a partnership between the European Union and the Big Six Youth Organizations through Global Youth Mobilization.
