World YMCA is partnering with HyperCycle, the AI network for multi-agent systems, to develop a pioneering Artificial Intelligence platform ‘Hyper-Y’.
Hyper-Y will connect YMCAs around the world by providing staff, volunteers and members with easy access to information from across our global network.
A prototype was unveiled at the YMCA Accelerator Summit in Mombasa in October 2024, when over 65 National and Local YMCAs worldwide expressed support for the project.
It is envisaged that the Hyper-Y platform will continue to be rolled out and made available to all YMCAs worldwide through 2025.
“Hyper-Y is more than a tool: it’s a transformative opportunity,” says World YMCA Secretary General Carlos Sanvee. “It massively multiplies our current information sharing capacity: both the amount of data that we can share, and the speed and facility of doing so. Its focus is on equity and inclusion: everyone in the YMCA is equally part of it. With better and more accessible data will surely come better, more equitable & impactful decisions, coordination, fundraising, and ultimately bettering lives for the young people and communities we serve.
